Alien Sex: Katy Perry's E.T Music Video Premier

All my friends can tell you this lil' phase I had (or still have) with Katy Perry's song E.T ft. Kanye West. When I stalked her ass (not like that, haha), and found out the video would be released today, I was so excited! But to be honest, I'm actually a little disappointed. Just a little. Not that it's missing something, on the contrary it has ENOUGH, but I felt like I wanted some action (uhmmm I don't know like HER LIPS MOVING TO THE WORDS!) I felt like the video had a lot of creativity, beautiful scenery, amazing outfits, mind blowing make-up, and a movie like experience; beautiful. But I can't say much about her moving to her song or her singing to it - I wanted  to see a better connection between her & the song. I felt like this was just a beautiful sci-fi movie, not a music video.

PS: KUDOS for Floria Sigismondi on EXCELLENT directing skills !

BUT now,  for things I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED:

Color Block!

I think the fashionistas of the world spotted a new trend on the 2011 Spring runway shows. COLOR COLOR COLOR. and not just any color, but bright ones and usually paired with a classic, neutral color so that it SHOCKS your entire outfit. I'm definitely digging it.

I think by now, you guys took notice of my incredible obsession with warm weathers, the sun, spring and anything that makes me feel like I'm not about to die. Haha.

Color Blocking is the perfect test for the true fashionistas of the world. Is not as difficult to add really bold colors to something black, white, gray, but adding color to MORE color;that's quite the challenge. You'd have to have some fashion confidence to go out in bold colors. I know ya'll have it, and in my opinion I don't have any problem with adding a little more alegria to our wardrobe. Let's see if I (the earth-toned obsessed) have the balls to try color blocking!

Soooo . . . are you going to Color Block Shock the world this Spring/Summer ?

Extraterrestrial.

This morning was so refreshing.

I had a meeting with my personal FIT counselor, Terry.
She helps me with my personal issues and I've noticed that
ever since I've been going I've made some significant improvements in my life.
Today was special though because we connected.

I love today (so far).
The sun is nice and bright, just how I like it.

My silver metallic jacket accompanied me, like always.
When I wear it my mom and me agreed it looks a little Micheal Jackson-esque. Haha
I'm okay with that ;) . .  .  I love metallics & this jacket is one of my favorite pieces
of clothing in my closet. It looks so "out of this world", almost futuristic!
It's so different and It has a personality of it's own.

70s Spring Feva'.

Spring's 2011 RTW Collections SCREAMED  florals, bohemian, romantic fashion. And now the evidence is here . . . on the window displays of clothing retail stores. The 70s are back this Spring/Summer and I couldn't be happier. I passed by an H&M today on my way to the subway and I fell in love with some really cute 70s spring-like outfits for this season. I love the idea of bringing something "old" and making it new by adding a few modern twists. I'm in love the whole game playing of nude, earthy tones and turbans, hats and really flowy pieces. Adds a touch of romanticism and warmth.

How are you feeling about these 70s influences in fashion? Like or Not?

Campbell Walks the City.

I've done about two posts on Jeffrey Campbell's 'Lita' shoe, and today as I came out of Borders in Herald Square 34th st I saw these two well dressed young ladies. One I imagine to be the mother and the other her daughter, either way they were really stylish this afternoon. But what really caught my attention was that the younger lady had Jeffrey Campbell's Lita shoe on, in Pewter Glitter (Gold). I haven't seen anyone in the streets with them yet (weird, I know). Editorials, Photo-shoots, Internet searches ... everywhere but on an actual foot in front of me. I just couldn't help myself and took a picture of how amazing they look on just a regular girl who loves her fashion.

Bold in Malachite.

I couldn't help myself.
Another jewelry post.

I found these cuffs on Style.com's 'item of the week' section & I fell in love with their summery appeal. I love the fact that you can pear them up with some nice cut off jean shorts and a peasant top or a maxi boho dress.

I am in love with the malachite colored stones on top of the cuff which simply adds boldness with those safari like pattern that serves as it's background.

What would you pair these with?

Color Me Spring.

I don't know what my obsession with the sun is. This tease of warm weather and beautiful sunny mornings just make me hungry for color. If you knew my friends they'd tell you I'm jewelry obsessed . . . matter of fact, I'm accessories obsessed. I feel that a necklace makes a statement and a good ring always makes any hand seem finer than it is. I found these amazing bold pieces on Spain's Vogue site and I can't wait for you guys to tell me if your daring enough to wear any!

Find any bold pieces on any Vintage shop? Any thrifts?
